Introducing Android App Video Reviews – Episode One – Astrid

Astrid is a task manager for Android that lets you make a to-do list to track tasks with alerts, time tracking, milestones, and much more. Your task list is sorted by urgency, leaving the most important items at the top. All the settings and options are very clearly labeled and easy to understand. Astrid can even sync with Don’t Forget the Milk, for even more reminder awesomeness.

Side note: I know there are some weird lighting issues and there is a slight pattern in the display, but I’m working on it. This is my first video, let me know what you think and I’ll try to make improvements. Got an idea for a future video or something you want to see reviewed? Leave me a comment and I’ll add it to my review queue.

For those who requested a YouTube version, we put one up.

Dude I got so much accomplished this weekend and I owe it to the annoying reminders of Astrid. I love this app.

Nice looking video, of a nice looking app. Unfortunately, I’d forget to set the reminders.

Can you post videos on YouTube for those of on a G1?

    • Taylor Wimberly

Yes, we will make sure and get these up on our YouTube account. We just signed up for Vimeo HD and were testing the embeds. Thanks for the suggestion.

How does using this app compare to using ‘pop-up notification’ reminders on events in Calendar? With Calendar you can set them up on your computer, which is a plus.

    • Taylor Wimberly

Astrid integrates with Google Calendar. It works similar but has many extra features. The notifications are more persistent and offer encouragement for completing your tasks. You can also tag all entries which is helpful as well as set priorities for different tasks.

Astrid combines the best of Google Calendar and Tasks then ads more features on top of that. Check it our for sure.

You can enter a new task just by beginning to type when looking at the list.
