There are now several hundred themes you can install to customize the look of your G1 home screen. What about decorating the outside of your Android phone though? Each day, I am finding new colorful designs for snap-on cases for the G1. Each one of these cases is made from plastic and snaps onto the outside of your phone. They lock in place in place pretty good and require some force to remove one. Not only can you change the look of your phone, but you can also protect it from scratches. The following is list of some of my favorite designs.

Wow, those are truly hideous. Maybe if I bought my tween daughter a smart phone, then she could “zebra it up” and pretend she’s a prostitute. I know you guys want to make a little scratch with Amazon, but stick to the Body Glove-style cases. If I wanted to wrap one of these eyesores around my $200 phone, I wouldn’t be trying so hard to avoid the overeager mouthbreathers at the mall kiosks.
Yes, these are targeted at kids because we have a lot of younger readers.
I got another high end case in the mail yesterday that I will post a video review of soon. It’s a metal armor case from Boxwave that is pretty nice.
If we had some system where we gave away awards for comments, you would have just won one.
Thanks! You guys have an awesome site and get a lot out of the information you post here.
Absolutely, that comment is a gem! I’m still chuckling. These are definitely targeted to a different market, younger crowd or a fashion group. In Asia and parts of Europe (and I suspect some of the street kiosks in downtown Denver) there are incredible selections of really outlandish cell phone covers and replacement cases. They really are a hot product globally, I honestly expect to see a lot more people using them domestically.
Why don’t they sell snap-in replacements for the back peice we already have? You could snap-off the old one and add a new one. This would eliminate adding any bulkiness to the device.
Those cases are okay, nothing special.
Do these cases do anything to protect the phone from being dropped? I’ve already got a small chip in the corner of my screen from dropping my phone.
its just like very other cell case out there
