“What Happened To Your Site?”

We experienced some down time over the last 24hrs and I thought an explanation was due.  Previously, our blog was hosted on a shared server where several other domains also lived.  The server became compromised and began injecting code across various pages being served.  We identified the issue, reported it to the hosting company, and verified our site was clean.

When the server was first compromised, it was flagged and temporarily banned from Google.  We used this opportunity to migrate the site to a server.  I had been wanting a hosting company that would allow us to grow and we went with Media Temple.  So while the downtime was a minor headache, it turned out to be a good thing in the long run.

If you are reading this, then you are viewing our site from the new server.  Many users reported that our site was flagged by their browsers, but those warnings should be gone.  Our site has been reviewed by Google and they have verified it is safe.  I even went ahead and hired a 3rd party source who also confirmed the site is clean of any malicious code.  Our Twitter account was temporarily suspended, but it is also under review and should be activated soon.

We are working hard to ensure everything on the site is working, but there might be a few weird bugs.  If you experience any problems with the site, please report them to us and we will take care of them.  Normal updates will resume shortly.

Thank you to everyone who contacted us over the last day.  Your concern and support encourage me to work harder than ever.  Additional steps are being taken to prevent any further downtime.  I tried to write a personal response to everyone.  There were so many emails that I probably missed a few.  To make up the downtime, we will be adding a 3rd week with 5 more winners to our home screen contest.
