I wanted to take a minute to share with everyone that the Austin Android Users Group will hold their first meetup next week. The group is organized by one of our contributors Eric Weiss and anyone in the surrounding area is invited to attend.
The following message was posted by Eric on the AAUG Google group:
Just a reminder that our first meeting with be Thursday September 10th at 7pm at Dominican Joe’s (http://www.dominicanjoes.com). I will have all the equipment (hopefully) needed to help people install the latest cyanogen ROM. Other than that it will be a fairly low-key getting to know you event. Everyone is invited as long as they are Android friendly!
Kevin Dill, CEO of Applied Net Technologies, and several of his employees will be at our first meet-up next Thursday. They will be there to demonstrate Android Storage (http://androidstorage.com/), answer questions about developing for Android and to socialize.
I talked to Mr. Dill via email and he seems genuinely excited to meet with a group of Android users. I think he, as well as the others from Applied Net Technologies, will have a lot interesting insight into the current status of Android as well as where the future will take the platform.
For the latest updates on the Austin Android Users Group, you can follow them on Twitter @AustinAndroid. If you plan to attend, drop Eric a note. I haven’t fully committed, but I’m going to try and attend myself. Look for a full update on the meetup event next week.
