Well I actually got method #2 to work just now … After much frustration, and even buying a new SD card, I realized I wasn’t holding down the camera button long enough. Feel like an idiot but at least it’s up to 1.6. Yeh I`m a little behind still :)

Bump: Have same exact “no signature” problem, again bought from China via Ebay. It’s a “Dev Phone 1″. Any suggestions yet?

I am having a problem that so far has not been discussed on this forum while trying to upgrade
I successfully renamed the file and put it on micro Sd card here is the error it gave me.
e: no signature (302 files)
e; verification failed
any help would be good

when i press alt+s to apply the update i get a message

E: Verification failed
Installation aborted
also my firmware reads 1.1, somebody please help

Hi there, I downgraded to the 1.0 firmware! I followed from the 2nd step onwards and it worked perfectly! :)

Thank you so much! I downgraded my dream to the Android 1.0 firmware in order to root it in order to install the Gingerbread update… Little did I know all the files I would attempt to use after the downgrade would be corrupt! So glad to have my donut back, who cares about ginger bread after my painful 9 hour ordeal I couldn’t care less! Greatly appreciated.

i cant get the new icons that are suppose to come with android 1.6 /: it says i have 1.6 on the g1 but the newer icons don’t show up like the ones on my brother’s phone

My HTC G1 is a phone that i purchased when I was stationed in Italy. It is still running the 1.1 firmware version and i am unable to get it updated now that I am back in the states. I was wondering if you knew some way to update it or make it possible so I can update the phone. I tried to update to the 1.6 version and got a message that it was not supported by the phone.

i flow this and update to 1.6 but i lose clockwork recovery and return to e2 and i want now update to 2.2 but i can not any one help me
