help... i made it to the first update (from 1.0 to cupcake) but keep getting this error:

E: No digest for META-INF/.MANIFEST.MF
E: Verification failed
Installation aborted.

I am in the Philippines, where there is zero support for Android (the telco does not even seem to understand there are different versions!) but using an unlocked T-mobile G1 from the U.S.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

i wanna know if i can do the update this way with my phone. i have firmware 1.5 but i dont have the same build number (i have a different, really long build number). would this have to do with the fact that my phone is unlocked. also my phone is an HTC Dream and not a T-Mobile G1. So if you could help me that would be great. I really want this update. Thanks!

Dude, Don't name it "update.zip," I found that by renaming it to "update," without the .zip part, and reboot into safe mode, the phone will automatically add the ".zip". So basically, dowload the update, rename it "update" and flash it. Oh yeah, and follow the rest of the instructions as it says here and you shouldn't have a problem. Hope this helps papa
