1 GHz Snapdragon phones will be awesome, but even the 550 MHz TI OMAP4340 in the Droid is more than twice as fast as the 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A in all the current Android phones.

Here's why: http://www.anandtech.com/gadgets/showdoc.aspx?i=3595&p=4

Maybe I'm weird, but I'd just as soon my phone showed up in a plain brown box, like Amazon's frustration-free packaging, which I use as often as possible.

Save the fancy packaging for the in-store displays. The real magic doesn't happen when you open the box; it happens when you turn the phone on.

I am waiting for snapdragon phones that are true 1ghz or more. The droid looks nice but I want faster and more storage for apps without root. Even though mine is rooted.

Yeah, nothing too exciting... with all these phones coming out, I'm waiting until after the new year before buying anything to do with Android. I'm curious to what devices Clark and others are planning to buy? :)

I've kinda felt that way about the whole campaign. Why promote your shiny new device in such a weird, grungy, 'underground' light?

I do think it would have looked good if they simply had an all black box with JUST the droid eye on it. Maybe a little bit of shiny reflecting material on it too. Shiny = good.

But this is some ugly-ass packaging - what were Motorola thinking?

Even if the hardware rocks, how will this look on the shelf next door to Apple's glamorous boxes?
