I really don’t see what the appeal is of Hodads (I’ve had much better burgers elsewhere in SD) but there are enough people around here that swear by it that I guess it’d be worth it to stop by. I’d recommend Tioli’s Crazee Burger in North Park or Bareback Grill in Pacific Beach (especially for the french fries covered in sugar).

When you guys get to San Diego you’ll be staying a few blocks away from Point Loma Seafood. I highly recommend it if you like fresh fish/crab/etc. and the weather is perfect right now to eat outside while watching the sea lions playing in the marina. Just remember to bring cash!

One more restaurant tip: the best fish tacos are at South Beach Bar and Grill in Ocean Beach (about 3 miles from your hotel). You can choose from fish, shark, shrimp, lobster, etc. and they have a pretty good beer selection. Email me if you need any more local recommendations or need a tour guide while you’re in town.
