Google has been busy this week improving all their mobile apps. This continues their trend of focusing on web apps while slowly moving away from native Android apps. First up, Google Search results for movies got a face lift. The new movie listings page now includes buttons to play trailers right on your phone, ratings and categories, movie posters, upcoming showtimes, and a concise list of the nearest theaters and their distances from you.
Next up, Google tweaked the UI for their mobile Gmail, Latitude, Calendar, and Tasks. The header area has been made darker to give it more contrast and the buttons are 47% larger to make them easier to tap.
