Confirmed: MyTouch Fender delayed till 2010

Our guesswork has been confirmed. We speculated that the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition might be delayed and it turned out to be true. I am disappointed the phone will not launch this year, but I’m really intrigued to see that wood grain finish now. It was so special that it apparently caused the device to slip to 2010. Check out the following response we just received from T-Mobile:

“Due to last-minute refinements to the unique finish of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition, T-Mobile has decided not to launch the device before the end of the year. T-Mobile customers will already have an impressive lineup to choose from for their holiday wish lists including the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, the Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR, the Samsung Behold II, and the BlackBerry Bold 9700 among others.”

If HTC can find a way to squeeze a 3.5mm jack into this phone, I wonder if I could run to radio shack, purchase a 3.5mm jack, get our my Dremel and make this happen.

How about they send me one with the same specs as the Fender but in white. I don’t care about the paintjob. I want the 3.5 and the extra ram.

    Bullshit!
I dont believe this has anything to do with “the finish”.
They probably realized all those mT3G owners are going to flip out that they. paid for. a lesser device and 2 months later the phone they SHOULD HAVE gotten shows up.
I still cant believe tmo ripped off so many when the rest of the world got the right phone.

i work in quality. all that marketing language means is that they had a build made and it looks like ish. they need time to push it back through the process.

If you think about it, if they release it early and with PROBLEMS people would bitch about how they’re simply being driven to get a product out regardless of quality and how there should be a class action suit because of the bad/thin/scratch prone/whatever finish on the phone.

Yet if a company takes the TIME to fix something that’s bad, everyone is still all with the complaining. Quit complaining already and just put your money where your mouth is. Want Droid? Jump ship to Verizon and be done with it. The rest of us don’t care and would rather wait for a decent product than get a bad product sooner.

      Alvin,
      Youre really not understanding though.
The problem is that this is the same phone the WHOLE REST OF THE WORLD has…. only T-Mobile USA has the shittier version. This is the phone we SHOULD HAVE gotten but T-Mobile paid less for that phone and in turn had us pay a higher rate for a lesser phone. THATS the problem.. and so yes… Ive jumped ship… I get my Droid on Monday (coincidentally my BDay woo hoo). Theres a matter of priciple here… its not en empty complaint.
Luckily my brothers company has 30 lines with VZW and he gets an amazing rate, otherise no way… VZW is very expensive lol

T-mobile let sprint pick the hero up because the original version looked like the g1. I’m pissed because some dummy at t-mobile turned it down on looks! Sprint just asked them to change the look and htc did. WAKE THE F-UP T-mobile!!!!!!!!
