It seems like every few days another random Pong clone shows up in the Market, but it’s still refreshing to see someone take a unique approach. Greenrobot has brought Pong into the 21st century with multitouch control, allowing two players to compete using a single device.

Sure, its a bit gimmicky and it only works on the Droid or the Milestone, but we’re suckers for retro games and Pong is a total classic. In today’s world of mobile gaming, playing face to face sounds like a nice change of pace.

Being honest, this game is probably the ONLY one I’ve seen that doesn’t look horrible.

I mean.. Android Market games are just disgusting. I have yet to see an iPhone-quality (sorry, it’s true; have an iPod touch) game other than Buka (thought it’s sluggish COMPARED to the iPhone equivalent).

You can play two-player already like this with one of the first apps I bought for my Android phone – Air Hockey. Pong does look pretty tasty, though – have to check it out.

I’m curious if this would work on CyanogenMod. Does anyone know if 2.0 and Cyanogen use the same multitouch code behind the scenes?

I tried to d/l but it looks like it’s only showing up in the 2.0 market.
