I can’t say for the backflip itself whether or not it runs Android 1.5. I didn’t see any indications that could make me believe one way or another. However, take a close look at the Google Search widget in the silver picture of the Motorola Devour. http://www.androidguys.com/2010/01/03/motorola-devour-gets-silver-finish-nearing-release/
That is clearly NOT a 1.5 search widget on a clearly MOTOBLUR phone. I personally believe it’s using 2.0/2.1 but it could be 1.6 too. We’ll just have to see. But if Motorola already has a 2.x version of MOTOBLUR for CDMA, then an update to the CLIQ shouldn’t be much farther off.

Backflip design is too iphonish for my taste, yet the Devour looks like a nook.
