Want to watch live NBA games on your Android phone for free? The NBA season is half over and mobiTV has lowered the price of NBA League Pass Mobile from $39.99 to $19.99.

Up until January 24th, NBA fans can watch live games and replays with the NBA League Pass Mobile Lite. After the trial period, users will be prompted to upgrade to the full-version of NBA League Pass Mobile or continue to use the Lite version, minus the live TV and replays.

NBA League Pass Mobile Lite will allow fans to:

  • Track scores and stats live
  • Send game alerts via Twitter, Facebook and e-mail
  • Receive game reminders
  • View division and conference standings

I’ve had the chance to download the demo and the video quality over WiFi looks great on my Nexus One. It is easy to jump from game to game and browse all the player stats right from my phone. League Pass Mobile also offers replays of all NBA games for up to 48 hours.

Check out the free demo and let us know how it performs. I think the $19 price tag is pretty reasonable if you are a hardcore NBA fan that is away from the TV. We hope DirectTV is taking notes and will offer similar mobile purchase options for their NFL Sunday Ticket app.

Note: NBA League Pass is only available on phones with Android 1.6 or greater.

FYI, directtv has already offered nfl ticket on Android, for free actually. If you had superfan then there was no fee I been watching all the games for weeks.

Yeah I know the app was free but you still had to pay for DirectTV + NFL Sunday Ticket + Super Fan. That adds up to several hundred dollars when some people only want the option to watch games on their mobile phones.

With the NBA anyone can watch all games for $39 and now the remaining season for $19.

Hi, I’m from Finland. I was interested in this app ever since it was first introduced and would have bought the full season instantly.

I have a G1, but the problem is – this application does not seem to be available for me in the Android Market!

And when I scanned the QR-code my G1 did not found the demo on the Android Market.

So, I think this application is only available in the USA? If it is, would somebody care to explain why only in the USA?

I’ve been told that google has set up google checkout in a limited number of countries. I can’t find or buy any paid apps here in Canada either. I use NBA hangtime to atleast deliver video highlights and up to date scores.

I already pay for NBA broadband. Would I have to pay more for the android app if it were even available in Canada?

Thanks for the heads up on this. I am taking advantage of the promo and so far I love it. It works seamlessly on both wifi and 3g. The video quality leaves a little to be desired but is not a deal breaker, I plan on buying this when the promo is over. For $20 for the rest of the season, I can watch any game I want to, anywhere I am. That is freaking fantastic….!!!
