Telus rumored to launch Motorla Milestone on January 26th

Motorola announced they would be bringing the Milestone (aka Droid) to Canada in early 2010 on Telus Mobility and now we have a release date. A tipster from the Canadian cellular industry has informed us that the Milestone will launch January 26, 2010.

I’ve received confirmation from my Telus sales rep that the Milestone will be scheduled to launch January 26th on the Telus network; provided that it launches “on time”.Canadian Tipster

Telus just launched their HSPA+ network in November which now covers 93% of the Canadian population. The HSPA+ network boats speeds up to 21 Mbps, but the Milestone only supports HSDPA 7.2 Mbps. Based on other tests of HSPA+ networks with HSDPA 7.2 devices, Milestone owners could receive actual download speeds between 3-5 Mbps.
