Engadget Mobile picked up an old rumor that Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy 2 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The tip was originally posted on AndroPhones.com several weeks ago and the site included the render seen above. I’m not so sure how reliable the source is, but Samsung told us to expect many more Android phones in 2010.
Samsung has yet to release a high-end Android phone, so it would be exciting if this turns out to be true. We should have several correspondents on the ground at MWC so check back mid February for an update.
The rumored specs include:
- 1 GHz Snapdragon
- 3.7 inch AMOLED touchscreen
- 5 MP camera
- 32 GB internal memory
- Android 2.1
- 3.5 mm jack
- GPS, WiFi

Good to see it has 32 GB internal memory
no way…
I just wanted my samsung galaxy with android 1.5 to get an update for android 2.1 maybe..I. would be happy with 2.0 too.
I’m sure that 32GB is for a micro SD card…. But if it DID, well, it would jump to the top of my WANT list… But I’ll reserve judgement until we get the no-kidding specs.
My G1 got too old too fast. In some ways I think HTC, Google and OHA knew, or should have known, that the G1 was under powered, under RAM;d and really under ROM’d.
That screen looks exactly like the one found on google.com/phone. Great photoshop skills nonetheless!
Is that a touchsensitive pad underneath the screen? Samsung FTW 32gb on board memory!!!!
NOPE!
Burned once on the Galaxy, never a Samsung again.
that’s looks pretty similar to the Nexus One…..
I had a samsung galaxy i7500….I agree with RIchy…Samsung never again….the galaxy is still running the android 1.5, the rumor of an update to 1.6 was only released yesterday..why not an update to android 2.x?
even my older G1 is running long time ago the 1.6…
the good thing about android OS/devices is to keep up with the updates regarding the OS….without this samsung android devices are kind of useless…at least when there are other offers on the market like htc that make updates over the air….
thanks
got fooled by Samsung Galaxy too..
next time it won’t be a Samsung but an Android!
