The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender LE went on sale last week for $179 with 2yr contract and now the first unboxing videos have hit the web. T-Mobile and Fender are marketing the phone as a collector’s item and it looks like they have delivered with the packaging. The phone has an awesome looking faux wood grain finish plus a matching charger and ear buds. Each video also shows off the included music apps like Christopher Souvey’s Android Musical (who has been a sponsor of this site. Thanks!).
Check out the videos for a preview of what we are to see with the rumored myTouch 3G v1.2. There has been some confusion over the system RAM included, but we still believe it to be 288 MB (and not 192 or 256 MB like reported by T-Mobile).
Just make sure you really love the Fender phone before purchasing it because TmoNews is reporting that T-Mobile will not offer refunds for buyer’s remorse.

Nice, now make same case for my hero please :]
I thought about getting this, but I am fine with my current rooted MyTouch 3G. Who knows? I am still trying to avoid getting the Nexus One.
QUESTION: I am still locked in contract with Verizon. If I were to just buy the “Fender Phone” straight out could I still program my number in and use it with Verizon as the carrier?. Sorry, I’m not real gadget savvy. So I hoped you could answer my question. Thanks for your time.
