New Android and Me mobile site live now

We leaked out a sneak peek yesterday on Droid Week, but as of late last night the new Android and Me mobile site is live and ready to use. Simply visit androidandme.com from your mobile device (currently supporting all Android devices and iPhone users who can’t help but lurk in our Android shadows).

The new mobile site is a complete overhaul, built from scratch. We were using a couple plug-ins to run the old mobile site and it made keeping everything current a bit of a hassle. We sort of rushed the site out the door to make sure we had it ready in time for the Austin Android Developer Lab (where we look forward to testing it on all sorts of devices and screen resolutions) but on average I wouldn’t guess the new site has any more bugs than the old one did.

The new site adds support for a bunch of things previously missing from our mobile site. Our large post images have made the move over, My Life With Andy is now viewable (although a bit small… we start work on a full comic site soon…), each post has previous/next buttons for easy navigation, related posts are shown, even our threaded comments with voting made the jump. Our basic goal was to make the mobile site more like the main desktop site, only smaller.

The new mobile site is just another step towards making Android and Me your number one Android destination. We’ve got a huge list of projects lined up for the site and each time we release something our readers make it more than worth it. Building and deploying things for you guys has been a blast and we don’t plan on stopping any time soon. Enjoy your new mobile site!

Bonus: Bookmark the site and add a desktop shortcut for a special treat.
