Verizon HTC Incredible nearing release

The evidence is mounting that the HTC Incredible (ADR6300) is nearing release on Verizon Wireless. Berry Scoop discovered the phone in Verizon’s inventory system and several leaked videos have started showing up across the web. Expect the rumors and leaks to keep flying as we approach the CTIA show which starts on March 23, 2010.

Rumored specs of the HTC Incredible:

  • 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive display AMOLED
  • 1 GHz Snapdragon platform
  • 512 MB ROM, 256 MB RAM
  • 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash
  • Android 2.1 with Sense UI

Based on the amount of RAM (as reported by BGR) this could be a mid to high-range phone. Newer models like the HTC Desire have more than doubled to 576 MB of RAM, but we have seen HTC bump the specs of other phones right before launch.

With the power off, other than the HTC logo at the top, I’d have sworn the one on the left was an iPhone!

Verizon’s network is tempting, but the lack of simultaneous voice/data is always a deal breaker for me in considering taking a smart phone to their network.

I think I’m still happy with my Nexus One!

I agree. It looks very different from the back, but I’m not a fan of how the front looks. After all the cool designs that have been coming from HTC lately, I’m disappointed that they went down the iPhone clone route.

Wait, you’re saying this will be released after March 23? Jesus, what’s the wait for? As things are shaking out, this is now a mid-level smartphone — but good enough that I’ll buy it. The Nexus One is supposedly also coming to Verizon, the Desire and Supersonic are right around the corner, not to mention the HD2 for those who aren’t committed to Android. This will go down just like the Droid — a great phone that will get outclassed in a month by a measurably superior phone.

I’m pretty sure this phone IS the Supersonic. The first leaked pics that came out all identified it by that name.

Did you not watch the video? He reads HTC Incredible off the back of it. The pictures from BGR show HTC Incredible stamped on the back. The leaked pictures for the Supersonic clearly show “HTC Supersonic” on the back and no trackpad.

Also it doesn’t mean that launch is imminent since it showed up in Verizon’s system. The Palm Pre and Pixi showed up in I think Aug of last year and launched in Jan and the Storm2 showed up in Apr-May and launched in Nov. We could still be a few months off. I for one hope I’m wrong cause I’m ready for a new toy lol.

There’s a difference between test units showing up in Cellbrite, which transfers data to new devices, and showing up in the actual INVENTORY system which means the phone is actual completed. Plus, the video shows how the Incredible already has the Verizon splash. The Supersonic has a 4.3 inch screen and is coming to Sprint as its first WiMax phone, while the Incredible has a 3.7 inch screen and is the CDMA version of the Desire , same as the Hero/Sprint Hero/DROID Eris relationship.

The phone stinks. 256 mb of ram vs the 512 mb that the N1 is unexceptable. People are already talking about the N1 freezing up when you are running more than one app at a time, so with 50% less access memory on the phone it’s going to be locking up all the time. Verizon has stop being second class citizen when it come to the phone it sells.

Remember the Desire? People thought it had 256 mb ram, then 320 mb of ram. Now it has 578 mb of RAM, more than the holy nexus one.

    That sucks.

It’s a shame, the fragmentation continues and will grow to a serious problem for Android. It’s already a pain in the neck to develop for 1.5/1.6/2.0.1/2.1 today.

And I’m quite pissed with my 32A HTC Magic, because I bought that baby about 6 months ago and it seems already quite outdated. Sense UI and 2.1 are only possible due to rooting and custom ROMs. Google Earth doesn’t work either, and I’m not getting Flash 10.

I really love my Android Phone, but maybe I’ll give Microsoft with their Win 7 Phone Series a chance afterwards. For now I’ve to stay with my magic =/

Nice, and now I posted it under the wrong Post and look like a complete dork. :D

It is my understanding that the Incredible might replace the ERIS. Yet, although the phone itself has been leaked no information on procing. That’s whay make me think most of tthe “leaks” have been put out there to generate pre release chatter. With no pricing leaks I have no real interest in it and will look at the ERIS or even wait for the Iphone to come tp Verizon.

      I’m a patient man.
