Verizon also owns a 49% share of the company which provides 90% of the service to the Asian & European market. Sprint owns 51% of Clearwire which is starting to appear to be a clear a joke unfortunately. Cisco quit making their WIMAX antenna's awhile back and my guess is at Verizon's insistence. That stifled their expansion and my connections way up the corporate ladder bolted last April. Now Sprint has 4G phones with a 10 dollar surcharge to have access to something only a few can get but everyone has to pay?

Plus if you look at Clearwires past record, check the clearwiresucks.com website and you'll see that speed is going to be an issue. I doubt you'll ever get upto what you were thinking. Comcast was linked to them as well and had based their 4G wireless broadband on that scenario working as well. They all but bailed.

I should know as I'm a dealer for Sprint & Comcast and built a business model based on using the 4G wireless broadband and I'm pretty much out of the game now.

In the end, and especially if the Internet Neutrality Act passes as its now written leaving wireless access to be governed the wireless companies, VERIZON is going to rule the wireless world. And I mean globally not just in the US.

[...] Verizon has more Android devices in the pipeline than most of the other carriers combined. The nation’s largest carrier is one of the more expensive choices, but you can’t argue with the impressive Android lineup produced so far the largest 3G network. Looking into the future, things should only get better as Verizon will be launching 4G LTE this year and should ship the first LTE handsets in 2011. [...]

In the long run Verizon Wireless will top the other carriers because they put billions of dollars to upgrade the "backhaul", the link from the tower to the internet, to Fiber Optics. Copper just won't do it anymore when it comes to data.

The $100,000 figure is what it costs on their data cards. Based on the 2GB phone plan it would be $2,505.
