The Droid X — yeah that’s right its just the X now — has been leaked more frequently than any other handset in recent memory, but these shots are the best so far and really show off the solid build quality and styling of the device.
The guys at Gadget University bring us these latest images with a couple spec changes — although I’m going to go ahead and question one of them. The two tweaks from the last time we saw the Droid X are that they are back to reporting a 4.3″ screen and return to the earlier rumor that this would be running a Snapdragon processor. It’s the Snapdragon processor that I don’t find credible as far too many of the testers I have heard from have indicated that it is using the TI-OMAP, but only time will tell.
The screen is gorgeous with apparently improved color reproduction over the original Droid, but for better or worse it isn’t AMOLED.
Finally they are corroborating the release information we already had with Verizon staff training around June 22nd and a launch date sometime in early July.
This phone looks amazingly polished and even without the front facing camera I think it might give Sprint and the HTC Evo 4G a run for their money.
If you are in the market for a big screen Android phone this summer which is it going to be: the Evo 4G or the Droid X?
