Samsung Galaxy Tab headed to Verizon this year

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Tab, their first Android tablet, at this week’s IFA show in Berlin, but U.S. customers should pay attention because it will likely land on multiple carriers (just like the Galaxy S phones).

A leak posted at BGR indicates the Galaxy Tab is headed to Verizon Wireless as the device was already spotted in their inventory system. No clues were given for the release date or pricing, but Samsung should reveal more details on September 2nd.

All four of the major U.S. carriers committed to the Galaxy S, so there is a chance they could do the same with the Tab. Verizon is rumored to be launching several other tablets from Motorola, HTC, and LG so we do not believe they will have an exclusive on the Tab.

We will be in Berlin to attend the IFA show, so check back later this week for some hands-on videos and first impressions of the Galaxy Tab.
