Samsung is said to unveil their first Android tablet based on the Galaxy S next month, according to an unnamed “high-ranking official” at the company. The source told JoongAng Daily that Samsung would unveil the “Galaxy Tab” in Berlin at the IFA consumer electronics show, which runs Sept. 3-8th.
Kim Hwan, vice president of Samsung Mobile communications division, told analysts last month that his company would launch the tablet to the Korean market in Q3 2010, but we also expect the device will appear in the U.S. market. The recently leaked Verizon roadmap suggests they will carry the Samsung tablet and we fully anticipate it will be in stores this year.
No official specs have been provided, but the Galaxy Tab is rumored to include similar internals as the Galaxy S line of phones with the addition of a 7 inch display, 4000 mAh battery, and 16 GB of internal storage. Look for more details to drop over the coming weeks.
