Epic 4G update planned for tomorrow, should fix 3G speeds

Samsung’s Galaxy S lineup are among the best Android phones currently on the market, but that does not mean they are without issues that still need to be addressed.  Most of you know about the GPS issue Samsung has been trying to work out, but another issue that many people don’t know much about is the supposed 3G upload cap on the Samsung Epic 4G.

Apparently, quite a few Epic 4G users have been experiencing extremely slow upload speeds while on Sprint’s 3G network.  Keep in mind, these slow speeds are in the range of 150 kbps.  While the numbers may appear to be low, the majority of users will not notice anything wrong since it’s very rare that people actually do a significant amount of data uploading from their handsets.

Without officially confirming a fix for this specific issue, a Sprint forum admin has let slip that an update for the Epic 4G will be rolling out tomorrow, September 30th. The new update is expected to hit all Epic 4G handsets within a four day period.  More details on the update are expected to hit the Epic 4G’s support page tomorrow once the rollout begins.
