James Cameron’s Avatar now (un)available for Android

Leave it up to Gameloft to release another awesome Android game that no one knows about and is impossible to download. If you want to try your luck (and test your frustration) head over to Gameloft’s Android store and you might be able to install their latest game, James Cameron’s Avatar.

I wish I could tell you how the game plays, but I’ve been unable to even download it on any of my Android phones. Gameloft’s Android titles are always top notch, but the online store just flat out sucks and hardly ever works.

As with most Gameloft HD titles, a high-end Android phone is required. I only suggest playing these games on a Galaxy S, Droid 2, Droid X, or G2.

We wish Gameloft would end their feud with Google and just place these games on the Android Market (now available in 29 countries!) like they do with iPhone games on Apple’s App Store, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

So anyways, good luck getting this thing installed. If you manage to pull it off, please let me know the magic trick.

Update: So after an hour of banging my head on the wall I somehow got Avatar loaded on my Epic 4G. The game demo looks pretty cool, but it won’t let me purchase the full version and I’ve tried billing to the carrier, two credit cards, and PayPal. I love you Gameloft. ;)
