New high-res Android wallpapers available for download

Last week we released some wallpapers based on the current tee featured in the And Me Artists Series and the response was pretty clear: you guys like wallpapers. So we’re back for week two, this time with three completely original wallpapers available in various resolutions (tablet, high-res handset, low-res handset).

This week’s tee features plain type set in Helvetica and since we didn’t think that would make for the most thrilling wallpapers we took things in a different direction. Below we’ve got three new wallpapers: a desert scene featuring an Android catus, a perforated metal homescreen rocking the Android and Me logo, and an Android bird on simple white and gray branches.

It may just be brand bias, but I think that one in the center looks damn fine. To use any of these, just navigate to this page on your phone > choose the appropriate link > long press on the image > select Set As Wallpaper > rock that beast!

Enjoy, link, win, buy

If you’ve been enjoying the wallpapers (or even the tees), we’d hugely appreciate a tweet, a link, a follow- we’ve been having a blast with all the feedback from you guys during this project, keep it coming!

Currently there is a Twitter contest running to score a free tee and we might announce a freebie during the week but as always the only sure-fire way to own this thing is to buy it.

PS: If at any point during the next few contests you win a shirt you’ve already purchased, I’ll be more than happy to swap it for another shirt in the series!

None of them look very good on my Tab :/
    no offense. Lol.

I ran into that too. You’ve gotta set it as the wallpaper from within the browser. If you enter into that ‘crop and save’ area things come out muddied. If you save from within the browser it just sets it without any pre-processing.

The white one is the Twitter bird morphed with the Android mascot Andy, sitting in a tree?

    • Clark Wimberly

Something like that. Android having those little antenna make it easy to morph him into things. Just stick those on top and you’re good to go!

It would be nice to have a little more black to save on battery for us SAMOLED users.

Really need a darker or black backround on more wallpapers.

I’m not emo or anything, its just that with black wallpapers on OLED screens you get a HUGE battery life boost. Galaxy S phone’s for example have pixels that don’t even turn on if they are ‘asked’ to display black. Changing your wallpaper to a [mostly] black background on phones like this will boost your battery life by 10-20%

They’re so simple but so nice. Really nice. Yea, I think you should make a app as the popularity grows. Keep it up.

I was looking around yesterday for a Thanksgiving themed wallpaper featuring Andy similar to the Halloween theme Dead Zebra created but couldn’t anything. Maybe you guys could be the site to start a holiday collection??

I made a darker version of the grey steel one, made the logo glow green. If anyone wants one, send me an email and I’ll forward it.
