Newegg launches Newegg Mobile application for Android

Newegg, the California-based online retailer of all things electronic (and by far one of my favorite tech shopping sites), has announced today the release of their Newegg Mobile Application. Newegg mobile is pretty full-featured for a 1.0 release, including account support, wish lists, quickly view daily deals, shell-shocker deal of the day, and the ability search for whatever awesome product you may be looking for using text entry.

The Newegg Mobile application also features a barcode scanner so you can easily see if the gadget you’re drooling over at Target or Best Buy can be found for cheaper on Newegg’s site. If it is in fact cheaper on Newegg, Newegg Mobile supports full in-app purchases so you can buy whatever you want from wherever you are.

Since Newegg Mobile is a 1.0 release, Newegg is looking for your input as to how they can best improve their application in future releases. If you decide to download the app, be sure to give them any feedback on their Facebook page.

Newegg Mobile is now available for free on the Android market and supports all flavors of Android.

UPDATE - An early preview version of Newegg Mobile was made available on 12/24, though Newegg has waited until today to annouce the application on their Facebook page, suggesting it may now be ready for primetime. (Thanks, Lament!)

Just downloaded. Very easy to navigate and comprehensive. Will check it daily. Needs a notification bar option for those that want to know the moment a new deal is posted. HTC Droid Incredible.

After exploring it a bit, it’s eerily similar to the Amazon application. Hit menu in both applications… a lot of similarities, including the location of the “My Account” item.

The regular newegg site works just fine on my Evo. No app needed.

You must enjoy zooming in and out needlessly, scrolling left and right to see all of the content, zooming in to hit the proper link, and basically spending way too much time finding what you want.

For the rest of us, we’ll take this app any day over the proper site.

This site gets updated at such a ridiculously slow pace Im not even sure how it survives . . . sometimes just 1 or 2 stories a day… a WEEK Day at that. oh boy

I totally agree, and their paid articles, where the app developer pays them to write about their app, is starting to piss me off.

I think phandroid.com is the best Android blog because they constantly have a lot of articles per day, unlike this one which never posts articles during the weekends and just a few posts during weekdays.

Plus, this site purposely waits for their competitors to post an article so they this site can copy them. Taylor has already said he’s not going to Sprint’s announcement on Feb 7th, which means they’re going to use information from other Android blogs that actually are going to that event, such as phandroid.

I also feel like this site has become a personal blog. It looked like it was going to be a nice tech blog, but there is far too much about the editors in post.

Who gives a shit if your phone is rebooting, post it as a report not a personal blog.
Who gives a shit about what the next phone you are getting ?

This site has been the spread of alot of miss information and has been stuck on the “dual core” idea for far too long.

I doubt the editors can even list me how dual core would improve there usage of their phone.

You are pathetic. I know you are the same person as the above two and I know YOU probably ARE from Phandroid. I’m not even from AndroidandMe but it doesn’t take much to know that using guerilla tactics to attack fellow bloggers show what a piece of shit you are. I’ll make sure NEVER to visit your Lamedroid site. Not like I do anyway…

No, I only wrote the comment with the name “Joe”

I’m unhappy with this website because they are way slower than their competitiors.
