CES 2011 live from Las Vegas Jan 4-9

The largest electronic trade show of the year kicks off this week and we’re flying the whole Android and Me team to Las Vegas to get all up in it. Taylor and Clark are flying in tomorrow, on Wednesday we’ll be joined by Nick, Anthony, and Sean. And at some point unbeknownst to me we’ll be joined by Chris Chavez.

We’ve got a couple of rooms right across from the convention center and we’ve RSVP’d for every party we could sniff out and we’ll do our best all week to share everything we can with you. In fact, we’ve got so many ways to keep tabs on us we thought we should make a post discussing the various way to intake updates.

To keep track of all the action as it happens, we’ve set up a special live site at live.androidandme.com. We’ll all be posting to it all week, usually from the show floor or from behind closed doors as big announcements are made. When viewing the page, the site will update automatically, streaming our reports right to your screen as it happens. If you go away for a while, the page will keep track of the new entries and eagerly await your return.

On top of the streaming updates, we built in threaded comments powered by your Twitter or Facebook account. Simply connect using a button in the top right sidebar and you’ll be ready to dish on any individual update on the site (that’s right, we built thread comments into every single tiny status update- get talkin!).

CES widget

We’ve built a special CES-tracking widget that you can find at the top of the sidebar on every page of this site.

The widget will display our next two upcoming events, along with the five most recent CES posts and links to our live and archived CES coverage.

We’ll try to list only events that we think we’ll be live blogging from or that will produce a juicy post. So if you see something listed in the schedule that interests you, make sure to check back on the main site or on the Live site for all the action.

We’ve got a lot of Twitter accounts, so I’ll keep it brief:

@androidandme, the main twitter account
@andmelive, all the updates from the live site
Our Team’s Tweets, a list compiled of all our personal accounts

If you’ll actually be in Vegas for CES or just have questions you want to pass along, Twitter will likely be the best way to get in contact with us. We all watch it like a hawk.

Of course we’ll be posting a ton of content to this site, we just wanted to present the above options for those of you that want the content as it happens. In summary: We’ll use the Live site for all sorts of tech-related CES news. We’ll use our Twitter accounts for all sorts of random silliness. We’ll post the meat and potatoes to this site once we’ve had time to digest them.

We’ll have staff in Vegas from Jan 4-9, so the posting on this site might be sporadic as a result. Sometimes we’ll have huge groupings of posts, sometimes we might disappear to track down the next story. We hope you’ll enjoy the ride as much as we will.
