Facebook denies phone rumors, confirms HTC will be using their public APIs in an interesting way

Once again Facebook has denied the rumors that they are launching their own branded phone, but they also might have shed some light on the direction of HTC’s next version of Sense UI.

“The rumours around there being something more to this HTC device are overblown,”┬ásaid Dan Rose, head of business development at Facebook. “This is really just another example of a manufacturer who has taken our public APIs (application programming interfaces) and integrated them into their device in an interesting way.”

HTC recently filed for the trademark “HTC Sensation” which has led to all kinds of wild speculation, but no one really knows what HTC has up their sleeves yet. Thankfully we won’t have to wait much longer, as HTC will hopefully spill the beans in a couple of weeks at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

What interesting way do you think HTC will be incorporating Facebook’s services into their next devices?
