Motorola and T-mobile launch the Cliq 2, targeted for launch on 1/19

At CES yesterday, Motorola and T-mobile announced the Cliq 2, a Froyo-toting QWERTY slider aimed at business/enterprise users. The Cliq 2 has a targeted release date of January 19th. No word yet on the pricing, but it will probably fall in the $150-$200 range.

The enhancements for business users include robust calendar capabilities, enhanced corporate directory with the ability to incorporate your LinkedIn contacts, and 3G mobile-hotspot capabilities.

Full specifications for the Cliq can be found on the Motorola Developer Site. Highlights are as follows:

  • Android 2.2 Froyo with MOTOBLUR
  • 3.7″ WVGA screen
  • 1 GHZ TI-OMAP 3620-2000 Processor
  • Slide-out QWERTY keyboard
  • 512 MB RAM/1 GB ROM
  • HSPA+ connectivity
  • 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash
  • Video recording (max resolution 720 x 480 – not HD video)

We will have some hands-on time with the Cliq 2 later on today. If you’re eager to see the Cliq 2 in action, check out the following video.

After all the hell I went through with the first Cliq, I will never again buy another Motorola low end phone.

No one that is reading this should buy this phone. There’s a lot of better phones available, especially the LG Optimus 2x.

I hope almost no one buys this phone, as motorola doesn’t deserve a single customer!!!

This is what the original Cliq should have been like. I lost faith in Moto after all the promised updates being held back. The did deliver though…after a whole freaking year! FAIL! Too bad cause if they hadn’t of screwed over a lot of Cliq users im sure Motorola would have had a loyal following through T-Mobile. But instead all of their focus was the Droid line through big red. So bye-bye Moto.
