Win a Motorola XOOM powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2

Good news, everyone! NIVIDIA has been awesome enough to ship us a box of four brand new, WiFi-only Motorola XOOM tablets featuring the new NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor. We’ll be giving away all four over the next few weeks, starting today with a simple Twitter contest.

We have a feeling most of you know exactly what this beast is capable of, but for those not in the know we’ll run through the specs. The XOOM is running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), has a 10.1 inch screen, has dual cameras (5MP rear, 2MP front), and of course is sporting a dual-core 1ghz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. Because it’s got a Tegra inside, it’s also got access to TegraZone, a curated mini-market featuring the newest and best 3D games Android has to offer.

Check the video below for our poolside unboxing (it was a nice day out) or scroll down below for contest details!

Win a XOOM on Twitter

To be entered to win our first XOOM, all you’ve gotta do is craft a tweet with two key pieces: the hashtag #iwantaxoom and the Twitter handle @NVIDIAtegra. For example, you could tweet,

Man! #iwantaxoom with the @NVIDIAtegra 2 for the awesome games.

Or you could say

I’m a nerd so #iwantaxoom with an @NVIDIAtegra to do homework. And to adjust my glasses with the front facing camera.

The key to remember here is to include #iwantaxoom and @NVIDIAtegra. If you do so, you’ll be automatically entered in a random drawing, to be held Monday morning (5/2/11) for a free, brand-spankin’ new WiFi-only XOOM. You can use the tweetbox below or you can tweet to your heart’s content through your own apps/channels, just make sure to include the key phrases. Good luck!

If you’ve got any questions, please leave a comment here and we’ll get you an answer. If you don’t use Twitter, stay tuned! We’ve got more XOOMs coming soon and they will be given out through non-Twitter channels!

Contest provided by Android and Me. Prizing provided by NVIDIA. Contest is US residents only (sorry, legal request!). Any questions regarding this contest should be directed to clark@androidandme.com

We have a winner! With almost 3k entries counted, the lucky XOOM-owner-to-be is Jacob Stroop, aka @israel941. Congratulations Jacob! And the rest of you, stay tuned, we’ve got more XOOMs coming your way soon!

Yes, good catch! Added to the fine print.

        Boo. Hiss.

This is almost as disappointing as my 1st experience with the Xoom. Looks like a top device, but the store I tried it in didn’t have any wireless / 3g connection.

Even the best Android device is a terrible bore without any sort of web connection. Poor marketing.

It will be great if it was for global. :P
        I really need a XOOM :)

I want it to replace my laptop.

  • Nick Gray

I just want one to play with a for a week. I promise I’ll give it back :)

Me too, except I won’t give it back!! :)

  • http://Website TWiT Commander

    I need this!

  • http://Website DKConstant

So, should we put the @androidandme handle in there as well? Or will this all be pulled from the required handle and tag?

    • http://clarklab.net Clark Wimberly

You can add @androidandme if you’d like but the only things required are #iwantaxoom and @NVIDIAtegra

  • http://Website Jorge

Do we have to follow anyone?

    • http://clarklab.net Clark Wimberly

It might be helpful to follow @androidandme and @NVIDIAtegra for future contest updates but it isn’t required to win.

I’m surprised Google hasn’t tried to get more HoneyComb tablets in the hands of developers. You hear about people complaining that only 20-or-so HoneyComb-specific apps are in the market and I for one have been wanting to develop one, but not if that means dealing with the horrible emulator. A free HC tablet would go a long way to persuading me to develop HoneyComb-specific apps.

I have a feeling a HC tablet will be the free swag at I/O this year

    • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

I think any developer that goes to Google I/O will come home with 1-2 new Android tablets.

I believe they’ll definitely hand out a Honeycomb tablet, but we’ll also see either the EVO 3D or Nexus S 4G given away at the event.. likely because Sprint and Google are working so closely together lately (the Nexus S 4G product, Google Voice integration with Sprint, etc).

        Hey Taylor, welcome back! :)

I do really wish you come back to post at Androidandme.com….

Something is missing when you stopped posting over here… :(

i could really use it too. I support a doctors office and he is always calling me to “fix” his zoom and ipads! Sure would be a lot easier to remote in and do it then drive out there!

Is the contest being done on 05/01/2011 or on Monday (which is actually 05/02/2011.) ? I’m guessing Monday but just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

    • http://clarklab.net Clark Wimberly

Good catch! Monday is definitely the 2nd. Edited the post.

Can you answer my question below pretty please.

  • http://Website Shanikwa Johnson

How many entries per day? The more you tweet, the more entries? If I tweet a million times, do I get a million entries?

  • http://Website Duckzero

Looks good. I just entered and man, I really want a Xoom!
