Most of us here at Android and Me are typically worried about processor speeds, screen sizes, and which versions of Android are loaded up on every new phone that launches. While these features are great points to obsess over, we typically don’t give much thought to the cameras our handsets come with. Yes, we occasionally gripe about manufacturers who still use 3 or 5 megapixel sensors, but that’s usually the extent of our worries.
But for the few of you who worry about the small details, we thought we would give you a little insight into the 8 megapixel camera on the new HTC DROID Incredible which just launched on Verizon Wireless.
Anyone who’s used one of HTC’s latest phones will probably be familiar with the customized camera application on the DROID Incredible 2. The app gives you the ability to easily adjust the exposure, contract, saturation, and white balance in addition to a half dozen preset filters and effects that can be applied to your pictures and video clips.
If you enjoy tinkering with the settings, HTC gives you the ability to adjust the ISO, control the image review duration, and toggle the settings for auto-focus, shutter sound, and facial detection.
Like many other Android phones, the HTC DROID Incredible 2 includes a touch-to-focus feature which gives you complete control of the focal point when it comes to taking pictures or shooting video. While other phones allow you to use this feature before you snap a picture or start recording a video, the DROID Incredible 2 takes it one step further by enabling touch-to-focus even while you record video.

The image sensor on the Incredible 2 does a great job of capturing pictures and video. The default saturation settings are a little too high for our taste, but that can easily be tweaked in the camera’s settings. But rather than tell you about the image quality, we suggest you take a look at some of the pictures we captured earlier today.
We also captured a couple videos to let you see the video quality for yourself. The only problem is that the Incredible 2′s default video setting is set to record at 800×480 instead of 1280×720. We’re hoping to have a little extra time to shoot some new clips in HD for you tomorrow.
