OnLive Viewer hits the HTC Flyer, also ported to other devices (Update: Video)

OnLive is definitely one of the most revolutionary gaming platforms, introducing cloud gaming at its finest. While we’re not yet able to use our Android devices for OnLive gaming, HTC Flyer users must be happy to see the OnLive viewer just came to their tablet via a recent update. As the name entails, you won’t be able to play with this app. But it will allow you to watch your fellow gamers playing online.

While the Flyer is the only lucky device to get this treat, our friends over at XDA have found a work around. And the apk is available for you to try out. You can find the apk file over at their forums, and it’s posted at the bottom of the first page.

If you’re a hard-core gamer, go on and test the apk on your devices. Please let us know if/how it works for you, just so we can get an idea of the compatibility. Also, don’t forget to tell us which phone you’re using to test this apk file.

Update:

I tested the OnLive Viewer on the HTC Thunerbolt and the HTC EVO 3D. The app worked perfectly for both devices. I also recorded a short video that demonstrates the installation procedure and includes a preview of what the app is like. The video is posted below if you have any issues or just want to see what it’s like before you try it.
