T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide shows its face in the wild

The HTC Sensation 4G may currently be the most exciting phone in T-Mobile’s lineup, but anyone looking for a phone with the Sensation’s raw processing power coupled with a QWERTY keyboard is probably looking forward to the release of the myTouch 4G Slide. A few blurry shots of the myTouch 4G Slide have been around for a while, but thanks to our friends at TmoNews, we now have a clear picture of what the phone actually looks like.

Anyone who’s familiar with the original myTouch 3G Slide and myTouch 4G will immediately notice the similarities between the handsets. It’s as if HTC simply took the myTouch 4G’s face and snapped it on to the slide-out QWERTY keyboard of the myTouch 3G Slide. The specs on the myTouch 4G Slide include a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, front-facing camera, 800 x 480 resolution display, Android 2.3 and HTC Sense 3.0 with a few myTouch specific modifications.

T-Mobile has not confirmed when the myTouch 4G Slide will be coming to its network, but some are expecting the handset to launch during the first few weeks of July. Would any of you consider the myTouch 4G Slide as a decent replacement for your current QWERTY slider?

I loved my myTouch 4G but I’m VERY Glad to be away without the not so “Genius” button now that I have my Sensation. – D

It’s worth replacing my G2, but if I wait a while I can get a quad core phone thats 5 times faster then these dual core phones out now.

    what an ugly face

NO NO NO not the genius button!!

I noticed on my dad’s MyTouch 4g (of all devices) that HTC/T-Mobile foolishly ditched the search button and replaced it with one that does (and only does) a voice search. Half the functionality, twice the ugly.

Everyone on HTC’s user experience team should be rioting.

Can you imagine how much sleeker this thing would be without that 2 inches of bezel above the screen?

I know it makes the phone look tiny overall

While I’m really glad to see a dual core qwerty coming out, it pains me that my only real choice is a flippin MyTouch with a screen thats too small.

I think its pretty obvious what the qwerty folks want-

a FIVE row keyboard with hard keys that arent jammed together like a droid’s

    a 4 inch+ screen

    dual core

    is that so hard?

why not release a qwerty version of the sensation?

I like that phone, but hate VK’s so- wheres OUR phone?

I totally get what you’re saying, but just imagine how big that phone will be.

I just want GB on my MT4G. Hopefully this means it will be updated soon, since it is shipping on this phone…

Definately not no Sensation OR Evo 3d that’s for sure…

  • Uncemister

Itll be a nice addition no doubt, they just need to ditch the “genius” button.

-And some comment about Android being awesome
