The Gingerbread update for the myTouch 4G is finally here! T-Mobile announced this morning that the Android 2.3.3 update is being pushed out over the air to a limited pilot group. We’re assuming T-Mobile is simply playing it safe to make sure the Gingerbread update doesn’t cause any unintended damage before they push it out to all myTouch 4G owners. T-Mobile plans to broaden the rollout of the update within a few weeks.
In addition to the standard Gingerbread improvements (power management, download manager and SIP support), the update will also add Exchange 2010 support, the latest version of Swype and a handful of bug fixes and enhancements to improve Bluetooth, the display and the handset’s roaming capabilities. If you happen to be one of the first to get the Gingerbread OTA update for the myTouch 4G, be sure to leave us a comment below and tell us what you like best about your newly updated phone.
