Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S II “Within” passes through the FCC

Still looking for some sort of sign that the Galaxy S II is close to hitting US shores? Look no further than the FCC filing for the Samsung SPH-D710–Sprint’s very own Galaxy S II variant, the Samsung Within.

Along with CDMA and WiMax radios, the SPH-D710 comes with what looks to be a slightly different camera configuration than that of the original Galaxy S II, as well as a bigger body. (5mm taller and 3mm wider to be exact). Don’t let the camera placement scare you into thinking the D710 isn’t the Within, it lines up perfectly with some recently leaked photos that were rumored to be Sprint’s Galaxy S II.

As the Galaxy S II has just reached over five million units sold internationally, it’s about time the US finally got their piece of the pie. It may not be an official announcement, but an FCC filing always means good things are on their way shortly. What do you think? Will Sprint, AT&T and Verizon all release their Galaxy S II variants at the same time? Or is this a good sign for Sprint users only? Let us know in the comments below.
