It can be painful to see devices released without Android 2.3, but it’s happening. The HTC Droid Incredible 2 was one of those good ol’ Froyo devices, and it seems this smartphone is beating its 4G LTE Verizon comrades in the Gingerbread race. Proud owners of the HTC Droid Incredible 2 will be happy to know they can now snatch their Android 2.3 Gingerbread update! Details about this update showed up last week on Verizon’s support page, so we definitely knew it was coming soon.
If you haven’t downloaded your update file yet, simply go to Settings > Software Update > Check New on your device, and you’ll be prompted to get your brand new 116 MB of Gingerbread goodness. Counting download and update time, Verizon estimates the whole procedure to take from 18-25 minutes, but you can still use your device while the file is downloading. If you want detailed instructions, Verizon has you covered. Download this PDF file, available from the Droid Incredible 2′s support page.
Go check for your new software update, and enjoy the fresh taste of Gingerbread on your Android smartphone. Is everyone satisfied? Finding any issues?
