A new report indicates HTC is already working on a new device that will be able to take full advantage of T-Mobile USA’s 42Mbps network speeds. Samsung and LG are also working on devices capable of achieving those same speeds on HSPA+ networks, but the report does not indicate those devices will be heading to T-Mobile.
For now, all we really know about the new HTC phone is the phone’s compatibility with T-Mobile’s network. We don’t think it’s too far of a stretch to predict it’ll be equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor or even a large qHD display. The launch date for the new HTC device is slated for the second half of 2011.
With AT&T’s pending acquisition of T-Mobile, many see T-mobile as a sinking ship. Would any of you be willing to stay on board just to get a feel for what T-Mobile’s 42Mbps HSPA+ network is capable of?
