Hulu Android app now available for EVO 4G, Thunderbolt, myTouch 4G, G2

Exactly three weeks ago, Hulu released its Android app to the Market. However, the app was only compatible with a handful of devices. Thankfully, the company is currently working to bring the popular service to more Android phones. Today it announced four more phones will allow you to enjoy watching TV shows and movies on the go.

Coincidentally ,all phones are made by HTC. And they are:

  • HTC EVO 4G
  • HTC Thunderbolt
  • T-Mobile’s myTouch 4G
  • T-Mobile’s G2

These four phones join the other six previously supported ones, bringing the total number of compatible phones to 10. If you’re the proud owner of one of these phones, you can head to the Android Market right now and download the Hulu app. However, you’ll need a Hulu Plus subscription to use it. But worry not, you can still sign up for a free one-week trial, or for a month if you use an .edu email address. If you do decide to join Hulu Plus, here’s everything you’ll be able to do with the Android app:

  • Watch all TV episodes available from Hulu
  • Watch full series runs or back seasons of classic shows like The X-Files, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Law and Order
  • Search and browse for shows and videos and manage your queue directly from your supported Android device
  • Watch movies from Miramax and the Criterion Collection, including Pulp Fiction, The English Patient, Breathless, Modern Times and hundreds more
  • Resume play from where you left off on other Hulu Plus devices, including your computer and select mobile phones, tablets, internet-connected TVs and Blu-ray players
  • Watch over WiFi, 3G and 4G

Do we have any Hulu Plus users here who are still waiting for Hulu to add support for their phones? What about those of you who have a supported phone? Do you use Hulu on your phone a lot? Or is it one of those things you’ve always wanted but once you have it you don’t use? Let us know in the comments below.

Damn the Droid Charge isn’t getting any Netflix or Hulu love. Not good.

The Netflix app works for the Droid Charge on the leaked 2.3.4 ROM, using Humble 2.1 personally and no build.prop edit is needed.

I’m starting to really feel and see the horrible outcomes of fragmentation. I.recently bought a EVO 3D and netflix fortunately worked. But July doesn’t? It’s even worse on tablets now that honeycomb has been on the scene.

Although I’m big on rooting, I still think It’s total bullshit that one should have to root his/her phone in order to get an app to work lol. That’s where Apple has us by the balls. BUT, Android is still #1 XD

Well basically there’s only one iphone, compared to androids multiple phones. So in reality apple will have the upper hand in the fragmentation issue cause it can’t fragment from its one phone.

The fact that all the phones listed above are HTC devices on different carriers hopefully can only means many more devices will be coming ie, htc evo 3d, Sensation 4g. Meanwhile I have enough content on my device with netflix, htc watch and the addition of movies through the android market as well as having sprint tv/movies so honestly I don’t need hulu on my EVO 3D.
