HTC Ruby and Samsung Hercules release dates leak out

Two of the hottest upcoming Android phones now have a possible release date. David of TmoNews just posted some new T-Mobile training materials which report the HTC Ruby and Samsung Hercules are scheduled to launch on October 27th. Read on to see why any Android fan would be excited about purchasing these superphones.

HTC Ruby

The rumored HTC Ruby specs include:

Dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3
4.3 inch qHD display
8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera
1GB RAM
Android 2.3.4 with Sense UI
Support for T-Mobile 4G (don’t know max speeds)
NFC support

Samsung Hercules

The rumored Samsung Hercules specs include:

Dual-core 1.2-1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3
4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus display
8 megapixel rear camera, front facing camera
1 GB RAM
Android 2.3.4 with TouchWiz UI
Support for T-Mobile’s new 4G HSPA+ 42 network

If you are on T-Mobile, which one would you rather buy and why? Would you rather have Samsung’s leading display technology or HTC’s unlocked bootloader? The decision might become more clear on August 29th, when Samsung is going to announce the US lineup of Galaxy S II phones including the Hercules.

Great article TAylor. I am on Tmo and while I wish I had the resources to get one of these beasts. I cannot.. I’m going to wait for the Nexus instead

Well I have a Sensation and love it, I’m holding out for Nexus Prime this winter but its going to be sooo Difficult with these two phones coming out soon

Definitely both great devices and if I had to choose I would go with the Hercules. However, I too am holding out for the next Nexus device. It’s so hard though with all these awesome devices coming out beforehand!

Tmobile! I guarantee that you would make more money if you do 1 year full upgrades on 2 year contracts. I can barely go 5 months without a new phone and you have the best android line up.

Side note: samsung blew it! You wanted to compete with the iphone 5 but you already lost customers to the sensation and will lose some to these two devices as well as the nexus 3. That’s not even counting the other carriers, smh. You should have negotiated sooner with the american companies.

It’s as if t-mobile is trying to purposely tick me off..October? that’s basically the end of the year where a lot of better devices gonna be out..like seriously? i was fine with it being out next month but come on man, that’s another 2 month wait with my dying G1.

  Dude, I kept my G1 for two full years If you’ve been rocking the original Android phone since launch, I’m not sure if I should respect you or just slap you across the face. Go out and get yourself the HTC Sensation right now! These phones will be a little better, but not so much to warrant you waiting another two months for an upgrade.

  my sentiments exactly…my phone battery is done, sue for an upgrade sept. 20th….and this phone is not due till OCT.20th?!? the rest of the world has had this phone for like a year – WTF? i don’t know if i can make it that long – but i dont want to buy a sensation when this thing is gonna be out a month later than my upgrade date…..been with tmobile since 2002 – they’re making it hard lately….very frustrated!

There nice and all but I’m waiting until Christmas time to even think ab out buying a new phone or I’ll hold out until my contract expires in February to buy a new phone so i can but my rooted mytouch 3G 3.55 to rest once and for all.

  If you’re on T-Mobile, these two phone will probably be the last high-end handset to launch before the end of the year. All rumored HTC phones will probably launch in Q4. You may see some discounts by the carriers around the holiday season, but I wouldn’t expect any other phones to pop up until after CES.

    What about the htc g-infinity? I thought that was supposed to be Q4, along with the bresson (might be wp7 not sure) and some LG mid range devices.

Everyone knows how I roll no question I am loving the EVO 3D emensly but I must admit I might add the HTC RUBY to my stable of devices which would detail becoming an tmobile customer. That means I would have both the EVO 3D and Htc Ruby reason for this is because we will start to see the begining of the EVO BRAND for 2012 later this year in these upcoming devices. Plus I want to see how much better the 1.5 dualcore processor is espically if what is being said is true this device will have dedicated camera and video button as well as THE NEW SENSE 3.5 can’t wait to see what thay will be..Plus a person can’t go wrong being both a sprint and tmobile customer. This is something that can happen 60% as of this moment plus me and my evo 3d will be returning from a 3week vacation on October 29th I will walk into a tmobile corporate store on that Saturday to check out this device…..,,,

Samsung is losing more and more potential buyers each day because the closer we get to a Nexus Prime announcement, the more people will decide to wait for it. I’m obviously referring to the techies out there who actually know about an imminent Nexus Prime arrival, but still, these are people who can potentially purchase the Hercules instead.
