Logitech releases Bluetooth keyboard, keyboard dock for Galaxy Tab 10.1

Logitech Tablet Keyboard

Logitech, the company behind the Google TV Revue and the tablet mouse, has just released two new keyboards made specifically for pairing with Android tablets.

The first keyboard is connected by Bluetooth and is made to be paired with any Honeycomb tablet on the market. It comes complete with compact keys for a low profile, dedicated media buttons and a durable case that doubles as a tablet stand for quite the professional impromptu setup. Powered by 4 AAA batteries, the keyboard should last a relatively long time. The Logitech Bluetooth keyboard is available for purchase here for $69.99.

The second keyboard is meant to be used with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and also uses Bluetooth for connectivity. The interesting thing about the Galaxy Tab keyboard is that it doubles as a durable aircraft-grade aluminum case. There’s extra padding inside the case to protect against falls as well. Since the Tab keyboard doesn’t appear to use any sort of dock connectors, if your tablet is similar in size to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 it may work without a problem. If you’re looking to purchase the Logitech Keyboard Case for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, you can do so here for $99.99.

End up with one of those nifty 50% off coupons that weren’t valid on the Revue? Now may be the time to use it. Do you use a Bluetooth keyboard with your tablet? Think it’s silly? Let us know in the comments below.

so, the purpose of having a tablet is what?

if I wanted an external keyboard, for my mobile device I’d get a laptop.

Better yet, stick to a desktop.

What’s next, an external track pad?

    • BiGMERF

i didnt buy mines only for my tablet.. but also for my ps3

actually they sell external trackpads for like $90 or something stupid (not logitech).

I got this keyboard and it works great. My main rationale for the two is school. I take notes in gdocs with the tablet and keyboard, but then can just throw the keyboard in my pack between classes. A couple of my classes have ebooks and there a ton of online accessible readings we get assigned, so this is much easier for quick access to the materials and my notes, but more useful than using my phone, which is what I had been doing.

I’ve got the Samsung keyboard dock and totally love it. It’s nice to have an alternative to hauling around my full-size notebook. But it doesn’t really clip together nicely when not in active use, which is a pain. I’m thinking about grabbing the Logitech keyboard case but I’m so wary of bluetooth I can’t decide if I should pull the trigger.
