Current Honeycomb tablets aren’t necessarily the most portable devices around. Many of us would like to see smaller Honeycomb tablets, as 10-inch devices tend to be a bit uncomfortable. Some of you may be waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 or for HTC to update the Flyer. That’s no longer necessary. Acer has just released the Iconia Tab A100–the first 7-inch Honeycomb tablet to hit the market.
This tablet is basically a smaller version of its predecessor, the ACER Iconia A500 (or any Honeycomb tablet, for that matter). Featuring the same specs, this little guy will give you exactly the same power as its big brother.
Acer Iconia A100 Specifications
- Android 3.2 Honeycomb
- 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor
- 1 GB of RAM
- 7-inch capacitive touch display (1024x600p)
- 8 GB / 16 GB of internal storage (Supports microSD cards of up to 32 GB)
- Ports: micro USB, micro HDMI
There you go! According to Acer, the A100 should be available in stores today. Go ahead and check out your local electronics stores for this bad boy. You’ll find the prices are quite welcoming as well. The 8 GB version costs $329.99 and the 16 GB runs $349.99, making this one of the most affordable Honeycomb tablets around. Anyone getting one of these? Do you like the idea of a smaller tablet? We know many of you prefer the smaller sizes, so sound off in the comments section.
