Current tablets are fun and Tegra 2 processors can hold their own, but there’s always room for improvement. Most of us have been waiting for those quad-core Tegra 3 tablets to show up, but we’ve seen nothing of them yet. They should now be close at hand, and according to Fudzilla’s sources, the first tablet featuring a Tegra 3 processor will be the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer 2.

The Transformer has been one of the most successful Honeycomb tablets in the market. The specs (same as pretty much every Honeycomb tablet) and the price have made this device a no-brainer. It’s one of the best options out there. Not to mention the keyboard dock, which not only makes it easier to type, but it also gives you much more battery life.

We assume the Transformer’s successor will have equal or more success. Especially if it does happen to be the first Kal-El device and the price stays as competitive as the first Transformer’s.

Times are changing, and tablets seem to stay pretty much the same. Most have a Tegra 2 processor, a 10-inch display, 1 GB of RAM and 8, 16 or 32 GB of storage space. You know the deal–tablets differentiate themselves mostly in aesthetics. We need a hardware upgrade, and a quad-core Tegra 3 processor will be very much welcome. Hopefully we can use the same keyboard with it.

What do you guys think? Would you go for a Tegra 3 Kal-El Transformer 2? Do you think it will actually be the first Tegra 3 device? We’ll have to wait and see. For now, let the speculation begin.
