Besides the HTC Status, the HTC Bliss is probably one of the more puzzling handsets in HTC’s lineup this year. Verizon is expected to launch the HTC Bliss as the first handset targeted directly at women. The HTC Bliss is said to feature a green hue along with a soft-touch rubber casing for a better grip, calming wallpapers, shopping and calorie counting apps and a “charm indicator” accessory that lights up when you receive phone calls or emails.
Back in May, we created a mockup of what we thought the HTC Bliss would look like. As it turns out, we weren’t that far off. Images of the HTC Bliss have surfaced, giving us a pretty decent look at the device. The phone features a 3.7-inch display and front-facing camera, and it and looks pretty similar to the HTC Desire S. But the main thing setting this new phone apart from the Desire S is HTC Sense 3.5.
On the surface, HTC Sense 3.5 is very similar to HTC Sense 3.0, which launched on the HTC Sensation and HTC EVO 3D. The widgets look much the same, and Sense 3.5 also includes the same lockscreen features found in 3.0. The assumption is that Sense 3.5 has been designed from the ground up to work with lower resolution displays and single core processors. (There were a few people who got mad when HTC announced Sense 3.0 would not be included in any updates for phones running on single-core processors).
We’re not exactly sure if the HTC Bliss will be a smash hit with the women. The beauty of Android is that manufacturers and service providers can tweak it to their heart’s content and create pretty much anything they can imagine. If you were calling the shots, what type of phone would you dream up?
