Verizon DROID Bionic landing on September 8 for $299?

Since Verizon leads the way in the total number of Android users, it’s only natural to see so much excitement around the upcoming DROID Bionic. We’re sure most of you have the specs of the DROID Bionic already memorized, but a few new documents have surfaced which give us a little more insight around the handset’s launch on Verizon’s network. If the leaked documents turn out to be true, Verizon will be launching the Motorola DROID bionic on September 6^th for $299.99 with a new two year contract. While the price sounds a little outrageous, it’s in line with Verizon’s current 4G LTE lineup.

Anyone looking forward to the DROID Bionic’s 4.5-inch HD display may be a little disappointed. Documents show that the Bionic will feature a 4.3-inch display – like the other three LTE phones on Verizon. Other confirmed details include a dual-core processor, WebTop and wireless printing, HDMI mirroring, 8 megapixel shooter on the back and a front-facing VGA camera for video chat.

What up with the 300 dollar priçe tag, I know it a good phone and all but dam, I remember when it use to be $200 on contract now it $250 or even $300.

With the economy, the lack of contract renewal incentives, and tiered data pricing leads me to think Verizon is about to adversely effect their momentum in the next few months. Like myself, I believe a lot of others will stay with their current phone and plan, or look to other providers who are eager for our business. To me Verizon isn’t giving me a reason to dump all of this money on these new phones with a locked in commitment for two years of uncertainty in a threatening economy. $1200.00 up front for four phones, not to mention the monthly bill just doesn’t keep me loyal to Verizon.

I think Verizon may be trying to limit the number of customers who use their 4G LTE network. Their 4G phones are priced way out of reach for most consumers.

  I agree. They aren’t adding on a 4g fee like Sprint. They are adding it into the cost of the handset.

  I have been doing a lot of reading lately about the samsung galaxy s 2. I am looking at some of the stats for verizon version and it looks like it can take on the Bionic. I am also concerned about the fact all eyes pointed to the thunderbolt. like many others I jumped on that band wagon to be incredibly dissapointed when the phone rebooted itself multiple times a day. I traded it for another and the same thing happened. Now using Samsung Charge. OK but not great. I need a phone to do everything they advertise it to do. Am I dreaming??

The Droid Bionic has lost its shine especially with the Droid HD coming soon. $299 is a crazy price for a 2 year contract!

I can’t stand these prices. Verizon customers need to stop buying these LTE phone to show them that we won’t pay an extra $100 just because the phone has a $5 LTE chip in it.

It’s actually ASHAME.. The Thunderbolt wasn’t worth 250 and this is not worth 300.. Verizon is a sad conclusion ripping off customers and having employees on strike refusing to give proper wages. Thank god today for tmobile and sprint carriers that understand affordability. Quadcore devices will cost 250 in 2012 next year I expect that.

This phone was definitely not designed for me. That’s why I love HTC! I wonder if motorola lacks female designers cause their phones are too boxy for this girl

I am still very interested in this phone. However, I can wait a couple of extra months to see if there is a sale somewhere. $299 is a lot to pay for a phone.

I bought my Droid 1 with the intention of keeping it for more than two years. That isn’t going to happen. I don’t see the Bionic being any different. That makes this price a little to high right now.
