UPDATE: We’ve announced a winner!

We’ve been hinting at it for a few weeks now, but today we’re finally ready to unveil our newest round of giveaways. Each Wednesday for the next four weeks we’ll be posting a new editor’s choice bundle, starting today with a photography pack featuring a Toshiba Thrive, a Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS 12 MP digital camera, a 32GB Transcend Class 10 SD Card, and a pair of Caselogic bags to hold it all.

The Toshiba Thrive is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2, and has quickly become my favorite utility tablet. While some might find it a bit bulky for day-to-day use, the Thrive has become my go-to tablet for traveling and getting things done. I love the array of full size ports (HDMI, USB, and SD) and the battery lasts so long that sometimes I don’t believe it. With the SD slot, the tablet is a natural pairing with a digital camera, which we’ve included. To hold everything, we’ve tossed in a tablet-sized shoulder bag from Caselogic along with a mini hard-shell camera case. You’ll be snapping and tapping in mad style.

For this week’s giveaway, we’re hosting a photo contest on Twitter. To enter to win, all you’ve got to do is tweet a photo at @NVIDIATegra on Twitter with the hashtag #shotbyme. Just take a photo, add the hashtag #shotbyme, include a mention to @NVIDIATegra, and you’ll automatically be entered to win. You can only tweet one photo per day.

We’ll randomly select a winner from the qualifying tweets and we’ll announce the winner next Tuesday, September 13. Along with the randomly selected winner, we’ll try to pick our some of our favorite and most creative photos to post on the blog.

Post a photo of all your Android devices, shoot some funny faces in the mirror, take us on your walk to work- any photo subject is fair game. Just shoot it yourself, tweet it to @NVIDIATegra, and hash it #shotbyme. We’ll do the rest.

On that note, if you’re not following @NVIDIATegra, now would be the time to do that. They’ve powered this contest and have many more to come.

Also worthy of note, we’re opening this contest internationally. The Thrive is wifi-only and we wanted to make sure anyone had a chance to win it. We can’t wait to see your photos!

      This is my entry! :)

Yes I know there is a Touchpad in there but I would still love a Thrive. I actually wanted an Android tablet but due to the fire-sale, I ended up getting one of these as a gift.

      • Juan Almanzar

The phone is an Epic 4G by the way. My Android connection, the laptop is 4 year old Asus G1S and the TV is being displayed through a PS3.

Another Twitter contest…bleh…don’t use twitter never will…

    • Clark Wimberly

Stay tuned! Two of the other editor’s choice contests won’t be managed via Twitter.

    • ZRod

Why? Thanks to Twitter I got myself a Touchpad.
Use it to follow bands, news, and whatever else you want. It is very handy.

  • uknowme

    Damn I hate Twitter!

  • Casey Friday

I went to Office Depot and tested out all the tablets there. The Thrive was my favorite BY FAR! I’m kissing all my lucky eggs for this one!

  • McLovin

I love this tablet. Toshiba got it right with the user replaceable battery and the full size USB slot. Who thought up mini-SD slots on tablets anyways? Really? Phones maybe but tablets no way!

All the tablet makers except Toshiba drank the Apple Kool-Aid when it came to the replaceable battery. I hope this irresponsible “not green at all” trend goes away and sanity comes to the tablet market.

    • Juan Almanzar

While this is true of the Thrive, the next tablet they are releasing, the AT200, falls right in like with iPad/Galaxy Tab-esque

    good luck to everyone !!!
