did anyone else think it was a bit wishy washy?

no real dates or price points or anything specific..

    a real pain.

I like that at the press event mention was made only of android competition. At Apples events Jobs would always call out Android. Very classy of Google.

Classic market leadership by Google. The real industry leader NEVER mentions competitors, because they will only lose that game. Only #2 in market share and wannabes will mention competitors, because attacking the #1 guy is part of the second market leader’s strategy.
It sure seemed like Google knows and behaves like a market leader now, no longer the underdog it was until this year.

Yeah, that’s how all these release events are though. The questions get answered later.

I can’t wait to get this phone in my hands. I’m really excited. ICS looks awesome and continues to push the envelope on innovation.

    Question!
With Samsung’s agreement to pay Microsoft a certain amount ($15?) for each Android phone sold, does MS get a cut off Galaxy Nexus sales?

I liked the show, the demo and all, but yeah still lots of questions around, but this was not a release event per se, and it was planed to be moved and stuff, maybe they’re still polishing some rough edges, but felt they couldn’t contain all the leaks properly, so they went “Ok, here it is, in all it’s glory, now let us do some other stuff here and there and you can have it in a couple of weeks”.

So does this thing have a microSD card slot or not?

    • serpa4

I never thought they would make a phone without a card slot. I mean, why? If not, I won’t buy. Sure the software is good, but 4.0 will be available on any phone later. No SD means no movie library and a small selection of music, no vast library of you tube clips, pictures, etc. I go a lot of places and countries without service and cloud storage is not a viable solution. I would have never guess a top of the line phone would not have a card slot. I’ll wait for the SS galaxy III.
I need HDMI out also, but that is not a deal breaker.

I read somewhere that SD have less reliable memory, and that it’d be the reason for not putting a card slot. Well, if you go for a 32GB version, that’s not really a problem…

Ice Cream Sandwich looks great, but I was hoping for some ground-breaking announcement and all I got was “Beam”
