So much for those talks of Android slowing down and reaching its peak. Andy Rubin just shared that there are now over 700,000 Android devices activated every day, up from 500,000 per day in June. Activations only count new devices that were put on a network by subscribing to a wireless service, so the total number of Android devices being sold could be much higher. If this growth continues to accelerate, we should see 1,000,000 activations per day in the first half of next year.
