After Samsung’s recent court victory over Apple, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is now back on sale in Australia. Samsung took the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with a new series of ads in the Australian paper The Sun-Herald this weekend. Thanks to an Australian Twitter user Martin Anugle (@maungle), we were able to catch a glimpse of the ad which reads, “The Tablet Apple Tried to Stop.”
This new campaign along with The Next Big Thing ad spots on TV have show have shown Samsung’s willingness to take on Apple. In a way, it sort of reminds me how Apple attacked Microsoft with their “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC” ads from several years ago.
Samsung Australia’s vice president of telecommunications, Tyler McGee, recently said that Apple’s courtroom battles had made the Galaxy Tab 10.1 a “household name” thanks to all the media attention it received.
What do you think of the new tougher Samsung? Do you like to see them go negative on Apple in their marketing message?
