The Sims FreePlay now available on Android Market

the-sims-freeplay-630

Today EA Mobile announced that The Sims FreePlay is now available in the Android Market. I’m not sure how many Sims fans we have around here, but earlier comments suggest that your wife will love the game. This time around, players will be have more than 1,200 customizable ways to design their dream home and neighborhood.

Highlights of The Sims FreePlay include:

  • Create up to 16 customized Sims from head to toe
  • Design dream homes or get fully-furnished houses for your Sims
  • Care for pets, grow gardens, even bake a cake
  • Give your Sims careers and earn Simoleons to improve their situations
  • Complete goals for Lifestyle Points, then spend them on hip items
  • Live with your Sims in real-time (when it’s day or night for you, it’s the same for your Sims)!

As the name implies, the game is free so go ahead and grab it now. Use caution though, because the game eats up around 640 MB of storage when installed. EA also recommends connecting to WiFi to download and play, due to the “rich, immersive quality of this game.”

Early reviews are positive, but let us know what you think of the game if you try it out. It’s not supported on the Galaxy Nexus, but I’m installing it on my Transformer Prime right now.

Goodbye marriage! I knew you well.

    • Copperti

      and goodbye:

      - canceling actions
      - babies
      - aging
      - unique characters
      - easier way to make Simoleons (even without cheating)
      - one Sim upset because they have to go to the bathroom with another Sim in the room
      - one Sim upset because they have to sleep in the same bed with another Sim (they may not like)
      - Skill points for intelligence, skill-sets like gardening, cooking etc…

….the list goes ON AND ON….. This game is quite simply a way for them to make money off of you if you are the type of player that really wants the cooler items in the game or is impatient enough to wait on Simoleons.

        oh…and HELLO ads!

      • Sims addict

There is a very simple way to get around the time restriction. It also gets rid of ads. Just fill up their needs, put them to work gardening- I like using green beans, it’s a big money maker- then save and exit. Turn off data connection, then change the time and date on your phone (ie, if the crop takes twelve hours, set the click ten hours ahead.) Start the game. Wait til it asks you to retry data connection, then go turn your data connection back on. Go back to game, hit retry, and voila. It’s twelve hours later and your crops are done, plus all your businesses have XP points ready. You can do this a couple more times before needing to refill their needs. I suggest making one large central house and putting all the farm plots there, instead of going house to house.
When you need to set your phone’s clock back to normal, make sure you refill all Sims needs and don’t have them doing ANYTHING. Save and exit, then turn your time and date back to normal. If you leave them doing an activity, they’ll get stuck, and you’ll have to use LPs to get them unstuck.
Also, once the game is started, you can just turn off your data connect. No more ads. It will still save your game.
I’ve had this game about 5 days and I’ve got over half a million simoleans doing this.

TWELVE HOURS AHEAD, NOT TEN… DERP! Swype mistake!

  • JonnyP

Does anyone know why this isn’t supported on the GN? Seems strange…

    • JonnyP

Nevermind, I am dumb. ICS issue.

      • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

Don’t think it’s ICS, because I have it running on my Transformer Prime with Android 4.0.

        • Jorge Eslava

It must be because it runs vanilla Android.

          (I’m joking of course)

    So guess what??

    Not available in the UK.

I’m ready to go on a killing spree I swear.

I’m with you there mate. It seems like every app I see reviewed here is us only

      • http://keridel.blogspot.com keridel

Update: there are now 2 versions on the market. A us one and an “everywhere else” one.

        Killing spree averted..

I didn’t buy it when it was on sale but now that it’s free, I may try it.

I’m curious to know if it’s riddled with ads. Since it’s free, I can understand there being some. However, some games take it way too far as if to annoy you so much that you are forced to buy the paid app if you want to play the game.

    • http://theinternet-allofit.blogspot.com Jorge Branco

      Words with friends?
And they didn’t even make a paid version

  • spazby

i would never buy this but will give it a try

  • joao pedro

serra que pega no lg optimus l3

  • Liz

It’s really annoying that they’ve blocked this app from certain tablets.

I’m using a cracked apk file of sims free play, works great, the screen size isn’t an issue. I have an arches gamepad, 7inch screen quad core processor and cannot get this game through play store!… Why??????
Its annoying as there are some items I would like to buy,(real money) but cannot as it wont connect play store correctly… Play store needs to allow this on the higher spec tablets, even if their smaller in screen size.
    It plays perfectlay.

  • vivi

I loved the game even with the newest changes.
I reached about level 46 – without cheats or top ups, just built up my restaurant and started the long hair quest.
Up till this point I’ve been using a Samsung Galaxy S3/Android. But after recently changing the the LG G3/Android I can no longer play my game as it’s not compatible with my device unless I buy a LG Smart TV

  • Jess

WHY DOES SIMS FREEPLAY NOT WORK ON THE LG G3!!! I spent money on this game, switched to an LG G3 and now it says its not compatible!! WHYY!? And why are there no answers or updates on this issue ANYWHERE?

This is so ridiculous that it won’t work on every android phone!
