HTC executive claims HTC one X getting strong pre-order response

According to an HTC executive, the HTC One X may be getting off to a great start – even before launch. During the HTC One unveiling for the Asian market, Jack Tung, President of HTC North Asia, said that strong pre-order response for the NVIDIA Tegra 3 powered HTC One X would make the phone one of HTC’s chief revenue generators. Jack Tung did not mention how many customers have pre-ordered the HTC One X, but we’re sure HTC is banking on some big numbers to help the company get back on track.

The HTC One X can be pre-ordered from Amazon, Expansys, and Vodafone and is expected to be available on O2 and other European carriers when the phone launches on April 5. Have any of you pre-ordered the HTC One X yet or are you waiting for AT&T or Sprint to release the dual-core Qualcomm S4 variant with LTE for the U.S. market?

  I went in to a T-Mobile store the Friday and they said that an HTC One “something” was coming in about a month or so. He couldn’t confirm whether it was the One S or One X.
  
  But I’m already excited… saving up that money so I can buy this beast without a 2-year contract

    If you can do this, it is the best way, you get a phone that is not tied down to any carrier and would receive OTA updates quicker, plus there are so many decent SIM only deals available nowadays too

That is a good sign. HTC really seems to be on the right track and are really making a solid line of flagship phones rather than 20 different phones with no real flag ship device.

  Benchmarks are not everything. They show only a part of the iceberg. I’m not saying we should not buy a phone based on benchmarks only. It’s good that it can compete with Tegra 3, it makes me proud of owning a S3 Snapdragon chipset :) For our own well-being, I hope HTC is not mistaken and that the new phones sell well. They need a breath of fresh air :)

Is the battery replaceable? If not, it may not be the best choice for somebody who uses the phone a lot.

I love the look of the phone and all the specs. They only think giving me pause is the lack of battery knowledge. With no removable battery, I’m really curious of how long the 1800 battery will last.

I’m personally waiting for this phone to hit AT&T. Then it’s just a matter of deciding between the One X and the Galaxy S3. Really looking forward to this summer; my Captivate is definitely getting long in the tooth.

Yes, pre-ordered and eagerly awaiting arrival. Looks like an amazing phone, can’t wait to see what it can do. Really interested to see how Sense 4 performs in real life; I’d normally be replacing it with cm9/AOKP or similar within days of getting it but it actually looks like they’ve done a really good job of this update so it might stick around for a bit longer. At least until my flashing finger starts getting itchy…

  I’m running ICS with Sense 4 (ported from the One V) on my G2 right now and can say that it’s a lot better than 3.5 and even 3.6. No lag at all and the UI improvements are pretty good.

  As I have only used a Ported version of the HTC One V on my HTC Desire HD (sense 4.0 lite) it is hard to say if this was a port of the final version of ICS.
  
  What I would say if new to ICS and a user of Sense already this is a great improvement, however if like me you have used an ICS phone such as the Galaxy Nexus, IMO, I found HTC efforts to include sense on ICS somewhat a bit of a mess.

I’m not so sure about the dual-core version in the US especially with SIII being just around the corner. If they released the European version in US then I would be torn between the two.

I just want to see it come state side with its original specs, hopefully T-Mobile will get it to because it will be either this or GSIII when I get a new phone. ( I’m leaning towards the GSIII though)

  I preordered mine as well in the Netherlands and I’m eagerly waiting for it to arrive!! My particular webshop also claimed that they would receive their stock the 27th or 28th. However, I’m a bit skeptical about that…

If it has a sealed back – it is potentially useless if you want to .root and install custom ROM’s. I don’t know how many times I have had to pop out my battery to get phones to come back to life.

Locking down their devices – both hardware and software (like the Amaze 4G) – is not the way HTC is going to get back into the saddle – this actually drives people away.
