One of our most requested features for Google Play is finally about to become a reality. Any day now Google will announce that Android fans can purchase gift cards for Google Play and redeem them to purchase music, movies, books, apps, and more.

Android Police discovered that the new Google Play app update includes new options for redeeming a gift card code, and creating a wish list for your most wanted content. Android Central has also spotted some $10 and $25 gift cards at an unknown retail store, so we should be hearing something from Google any day.

Hints of gift cards began to appear when Google released the Nexus 7. It included a free $25 credit for Google Play that users could use to purchase anything they liked. If you already have a Nexus 7, you might have noticed a Google Play balance appear in your payment methods with a picture of a gift card.

As someone who loves to give away devices and prizes, we can’t wait for these gift cards to become available.
